Chapter 2

It was the second morning. Karthik never remembered having come to college that early in the morning. He was fifteen minutes early to class. By his own standards, he generally came five to ten minutes after classes began. Today, he was there, that too even before Vishwesh and Shankar. He waited for ten minutes, when Vishwesh came to class. He asked Karthik why he was so early to class.

Karthik: Macha, I came to see my damsel da.
Vishwesh: Oh really? (Laughs)
Karthik: Why do you laugh?
Vishwesh: I thought you were joking about it. I thought the influence of whisky made you talk stuff you weren't made of.
Karthik: Yeah right, and you are made of. You had two failures, Miss.V and Mrs.S, remember?
Vishwesh: I had two failures, but you never wrote the exam even once.. (Laughs)
Karthik: Ha, nice joke, this time I will write the exam. Just wait and watch. And I will pass.. (Laughs)
Vishwesh: By the way, Shankar is chatting with a girl new to our college da. They are chatting outside class. Shall we join him?
Karthik: If its with a girl, Im sure. But your sure he is not upto any of his intern at Law School Harvard kind of stuff again no?
Vishwesh: Sure dead. That female apparently is a childhood friend of his, who lost contact with him for years. So, that's why he is building contacts again. (smirks laughingly)

With this, the two of them enter class.

Karthik: Oh shit, macha, this is my damsel da.
Vishwesh: Ahem, I guessed right. (Laughs)
Karthik: She looks gorgeous, doesn't she?
Vishwesh: I won't describe the beauty of my sister-in-law. (Laughs)
Karthik: Yea, that's better. (Laughs)

With this, Shankar and the lady come near them.
Shankar: Friends, this is Shalini Bhargava, a friend of mine till class 7, with whom I lost contacts afterwards. I hear she comes from Delhi, and is a top singer, and playwright.
Vishwesh: Wow, that'll help us.
Karthik: (blushing) And me too.
Shalini: Hi.
Karthik: Hi, I'm Karthik. Karthik Bhatt.
Vishwesh: Hi, I'm Vishwesh. Vishwesh Ganesh.
Some unknown voice: Hi, I'm Arun Talpade, your civil law professor. Can I have the class in order again please?
